About PAIR

PAIR (Programme for African Investigative Reporting) supports and strengthens investigative journalism in Benin, Burkina Faso, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Togo. The programme offers funding for investigative projects, but PAIR is also a network that facilitates contacts between journalists around the world and makes it possible to share experiences and work together across borders.

History of PAIR

The Danish Association for Investigative Journalism (FUJ) took the initiative to establish PAIR after the international conferences for investigative journalism in 2005 in Amsterdam in Holland. At this conference several African journalists who had heard about the Danish SCOOP programme contacted FUJ to hear if a similar project could be set up in Africa. At that time, the SCOOP programme supported investigative journalism in The Balkans and was founded by FUJ and International Media Support (IMS) in 2003.
